Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate, working remotely from the Philippines, will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with fit-out construction projects, including materials, labor, and other resources. The Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring that our projects are financially viable and align with our clients' budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation:
    • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for fit-out construction projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services.
    • Analyse architectural drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
    • Interpret plans, mark-ups, and instructions from designers, project managers, and other team members to produce accurate estimates.
  • Bid Preparation:
    • Prepare take-offs accurately and assist senior estimators in their bid preparation.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the take-off.
  • Cost Management:
    • Identify and report any cost discrepancies or potential savings opportunities.
    • Prepare cost reports and updates for management and clients.
  • Project Collaboration:
    • Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
    • Provide support during project planning and execution phases to address any cost-related issues or changes.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and cost estimation techniques.
    • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve the accuracy and efficiency of cost estimation processes.

Required Skills:

  • • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards in Australia.

Must Have Skills:

  • • Proficiency in Cubit cost estimation software is required.
  • • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is favourable.
  • • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the fit-out construction sector.
  • • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and labour costs.
