- Loan Application Review: Review loan applications to ensure all required information and documentation have been submitted. Verify the accuracy and completeness of documents, including income, credit, property, and asset verification.
- Documentation Collection: Gather all necessary documents from borrowers, including pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, and employment verification. Communicate with borrowers to request additional information or clarification if needed.
- Credit Reports and Underwriting: Review title searches.
- Compliance: Ensure that all loans are processed in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies. Keep up to date with changing regulations and ensure compliance throughout the loan process.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers, loan officers, and other relevant parties throughout the loan processing phase. Provide timely updates to borrowers on the status of their loans and answer any questions they may have.
- File Management: Maintain accurate and organized loan files, both digital and physical. Ensure that all required documents are properly signed and dated before submitting the file to underwriting for approval.
- Closing Coordination: Prepare loan files for closing by ensuring that all conditions have been met.
- Problem Solving: Identify potential issues or delays in the loan processing timeline and work proactively to resolve them. Collaborate with team members to find solutions and ensure timely processing of loans.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree. An associate degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in loan processing, mortgage, or banking. Experience working with mortgage loans (FHA, VA, conventional) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of loan processing procedures, mortgage guidelines, and industry regulations.
- Proficiency with loan origination software (e.g., Encompass, Calyx Point) and other financial software is a plus but not necessary.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously and meet deadlines.
